Andrea is a longtime member of the Bella Voce chorus and served as its board president for two years. She received her Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance and Master of Music in Composition from the University of New Mexico. The 2011 recipient of the Nevada Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, Andrea is Associate Professor of Music Emeritus and former Chair of the Department of Music and Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno. At UNR she taught oboe, music theory, and served as staff accompanist. She was principal oboist of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, Reno Philharmonic, and Nevada Opera orchestras for nearly 40 years. She is organist for the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and accompanies area middle and high school students. She has four daughters, three grandchildren, and is married to Reno Phil and Reno Chamber Orchestra principal bassist Scott Faulkner.
